The Wooden Whisk
Contemporary
If the office workers of St Leonards look a little less stressed than most, it could have something to do with Sean Flanagan's spacious cafe and its titchy offshoot, Whisk Espresso, nearby at 35 Chandos Street. Settle in on the comfy studded banquette for a monumental breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, black pudding and beans, or prop at the large communal table with the papers and the Whisk's special Single O blend caffe latte ($3.50) redolent of cocoa and caramel. Workers unite over some serious salad and sandwich action at lunch from a good old BLAT to a warm Asian beef salad with pickled cucumber and mint.
