The break-up rumours are true. Despite proposing to Sam Frost, of Victoria, Blake Garvey decided against his dream of 'settling down' with the 25-year-old financial consultant.
Garvey broke off his relationship with Sam once they arrived back in Australia after filming in South Africa, although no clear reason has been given for the split except that "they both wanted different things".
It appears that even Frost is in the dark about why things ended, with a post on her unverified Twitter account saying:
“Network Ten can confirm that Blake and Sam have sadly ended their engagement. When Blake proposed to Sam in South Africa, he did so because he had genuinely fallen in love with her. He was excited to start a life with Sam and was very much looking forward to their future together," a Network Ten spokesperson said.
"Unfortunately, not all relationships are meant to be, and feelings invariably change. Once Blake returned to his everyday life, he realised that they both wanted different things from a relationship and had different priorities.
"Blake has the greatest love and respect for Sam, but has made the difficult decision to end the relationship.”
Rumours began to swirl on social media after Network Ten cancelled all scheduled appearances and interviews for the three stars of Thursday night's final of The Bachelor.
The reason for the lack of interviews: Woman's Day has just announced that it has secured the only interview with the pair.
Speculation was rife that one of the contestants was pregnant, and that Garvey had already split up with Frost.
Garvey, a 31-year-old Perth real estate agent, presented Frost with an engagement ring in South Africa, where the final two episodes of the show were filmed.
The internet went into overdrive with conjecture.
As the final episode went to air on Thursday night, entertainment reporter Peter Ford, who regularly appears on the 2Day FM breakfast show, was promoting "exclusive details" of a "shock that has legal and moral implications for Network Ten and contestants" on social media.

"The reality TV bombshell set to rock Australia. It was meant to be about potential wedding bells not nappies," he tweeted.
The reality show's host Osher Gunsberg was equally coy during an interview promoting the finale on The Project.
"There's a major lockdown going on because of the magnitude of what happens," he said.
The Project host, Carrie Bickmore, then jokingly asked if viewers could expect to learn that "a Bachelor baby is on its way". Gunsberg refused to be drawn on the topic after an extended silence.
A woman who only wanted to be known as "Andrea" and claiming to have "inside information" also called Southern Cross Austereo's Dan and Maz radio show before the program went to air and suggested a contestant was expecting a child.
Filming for the second series of the popular dating show wrapped more than two months ago and the majority of contestants have been active on social media in recent weeks.
Hyde, a 27-year-old fashion designer from Queensland, has been busy promoting a number of organic and natural beauty products on Instagram, while 25-year-old Frost, a finance and insurance consultant from Victoria, has been posting photos of numerous nights out with fellow Bachelor stars, including Hyde.
