Where to watch the winning shows from this year’s Emmy Awards

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards has officially wrapped up, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to catch up on all the great TV you missed.

Though many top-notch shows were nominated, the obvious place to start is at the top of the pack. Shogun, The Bear and Baby Reindeer swept the awards, with Hacks not far behind.

Luckily, all the night’s victorious shows are available for your streaming pleasure. So, settle in and start bingeing.

Shogun - Disney+

What it won: Outstanding drama series, best lead actor in drama series, best lead actress in drama series, best directing for drama series

FX’s historical drama Shogun clearly had the Emmys voters talking because it raked in four awards, including the highly coveted outstanding drama category. When also counting the Creative Arts Emmys which took place earlier this month, Shogun won a total of 18 trophies – the most a single season of any show has ever won.

If this isn’t enough to make you reach for the remote, perhaps the fact that it’s based on James Clavell’s 1975 novel, which itself was inspired by true events during the late Sengoku period (1467–1615) in Japan, may. It also doesn’t shy away from killing off some of its main characters, demonstrating a degree of fearlessness rare in television these days.

Baby Reindeer - Netflix

What it won: Outstanding limited or anthology series, best lead actor in a limited or anthology series, best supporting actress in a limited or anthology series, best writing for limited or anthology series

It would have been difficult to avoid the utter maelstrom of chatter surrounding this show earlier in the year. By awarding this Netflix mega-hit four statuettes, the Emmys has placed it back in the spotlight, ready for new online sleuths to pick it apart all over again.

Despite some of the ethical questions it has raised (as well as the lawsuits), the show spent eight weeks in Netflix’s global top 10, racking up more than 80 million series views. Clearly, it hooked people. And now it can hook you too.

The Bear - Disney+

What it won: Best lead actor in a comedy, best directing for a comedy series, best supporting actor in a comedy, best supporting actress in a comedy

The whole “is it a comedy” debate may have baffled the media, but it clearly didn’t deter the voters. This stress-inducing, yet emotionally rich show added four statuettes to its already impressive pile from the previous Emmys. And it’s no wonder. The ceremony on Monday celebrated the second season, which contains the iconic ‘Fishes’ episode (Christmas dinner has never been so chaotic – and star-studded). Individual honours went to its star, Jeremy Allen White, and Liza Colón-Zayas, who plays Tina.

It’s essentially food porn combined with stellar guest stars, a powerfully emotional undercurrent, and a leading man who doubles as a Calvin Klein model.

Hacks - Stan*

What it won: Outstanding comedy series, best lead actress in a comedy series, best writing for a comedy series

The show that pipped The Bear for outstanding comedy series, one of the most prestigious awards at the Emmys. Its three awards of the night brought its total Emmys count to nine, though many of its fans would argue that is not nearly enough.

Recently finishing its third season (and with another one coming), Hacks is an incredibly clever show packed with knee-slapping punchlines and astounding charisma between its leading ladies (Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder) that you need to see to believe.
