Two charged with wounding in Wynyard on Saturday night

Two people, one a boy of just 15, have been charged in relation to an alleged stabbing in a North West town on Saturday night.

A TEENAGE boy is one of two people charged over a wounding incident in the North West town of Wynyard on Saturday night.

Police and emergency services were called in a house in Hales St just before 9pm.

A 38-year-old male from Wynyard received serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of an altercation within a private residence, police said.

A 15-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man, both from Wynyard, were arrested nearby and have been charged with wounding, aggravated Burglary and other related offences.

They were both granted conditional bail to appear in court at a later date.

“Police would like to reassure members of the public the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the community,” a statement said.
