Two Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang members have been charged over the seizure of more than 700 grams of methylamphetamine.

Tasmania Police in collaboration with the Australian Federal Police’s National Anti-Gang Squad made the two arrests this morning as part of an operation targeting the gang and its associates in the greater Hobart area.

The two men, aged 51 and 21, were arrested at a property at Derwent Park this morning in relation to the seizure of drugs from the Spirit of Tasmania in December.

Both men have been changed with trafficking in a controlled substance and were bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in August.

Detective Acting Inspector Nikala Parsons of the Serious Organised Crime division said the operation had significantly disrupted the criminal activities linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs in the state.

“We are continuing to work closely with our partners at the AFP NAGS to target criminal gang activities,” she said.

These arrests come as a large-scale police operation was conducted at Dover last week, where five people were charged.
