TASMANIA Police have issued a warning on MDMA capsules after a patron became ill at a Southern Tasmanian music festival.
The warning relates to red MDMA-based capsules circulating at the Hot Dub Wine Machine festival at Ranelagh on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Kate Chambers said police were seeking information to help identity of any people involved in the distribution of illicit substances at the event, specifically the distribution of red MDMA-based capsules.
“If any members of our community have purchased illicit drugs in the form of red capsules, I ask that they please destroy them or hand them in to police. Put your health and safety first.” she said.
Detective Inspector Chambers said the pills were believed to be related to an adverse reaction by a patron at the event.
“For those seeking to profit from selling harmful drugs to Tasmanians, know that we will target you and your activities in order to keep Tasmanians safe,” she said.
