A CLAREMONT man who has pleaded guilty to a host of child exploitation material charges has briefly reappeared in a Hobart court.
Samuel Christopher Norris, 32, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court last week and pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child exploitation material.
He has also pleaded guilty to four counts of involving a child or young person under 18 in the production of child exploitation material, and four counts of grooming a child or young person with the intention of exposing them to indecent material.
He briefly reappeared on Monday, after his lawyer said there was a mix-up and the required paperwork to endorse his pleas had not been signed.
According to court documents, Norris was on June 19 last year found in possession of 255 images and 49 videos depicting young people or children under 18 in sexual contexts or engaged in sexual acts.
Norris allegedly committed the grooming and child exploitation material production offences between November 2019 and June 2020.
Magistrate Glenn Hay committed him to appear in the Supreme Court of Tasmania on February 1.
Norris is currently on bail.
