“Operating unregistered trail bikes in public areas place both the rider and other members of our community at risk,” Sergeant Jason Klug said.

“Roads yesterday were wet, and this type of bike is specifically designed for mud and not slippery surfaces like bitumen.

“People doing the wrong thing need to understand that police have many different resources to detect this sort of behaviour and those people who are committing offences will be prosecuted.

“We will continue to conduct targeted police operations to address this sort of behaviour. These types of offences can result in fines, vehicle seizures and a loss of licence.”

Police seized the trail bike and the rider will be summonsed for multiple offences, including evade police.

Members of the public are asked to report any illegal or dangerous trail bike activity to police on 131 444.
