Man struck over the head and robbed after arranging meeting to sell motorbike

A MAN has been arrested for his involvement in the alleged assault and robbery of a Gumtree seller.
A man, flanked by three others, allegedly arranged a meeting with a Gumtree seller to inspect a motorbike before striking him over the head a number of times and fleeing with his bike.
Tasmania Police Sergeant Michael Bobrowski said four males travelling in a white hatchback exited a vehicle at Canberra Rd in Claremont about 4.15pm on Tuesday and approached a 41-year-old man who had agreed to meet there for the prospective sale of his bike.
Sgt Bobrowski said one of the offenders rode the trail bike, an orange and black KTM85, north on Canberra Rd and the other three left in the white hatchback in a southerly direction.
A 29-year-old man from Campania has been arrested in relation to the incident.
Police said the trail bike had been recovered by officers and investigations into the incident were continuing, with detectives now following a direct line of inquiry.
