Police were called to the Hotel Valern bottle shop in Moonah after a security alarm was activated about 5.05am yesterday. Officers allegedly found a 32-year-old man inside.

The hotel was closed and no staff were present at the time.

The suspect was expected to appear in the Magistrates Court late yesterday charged with burglary, breach of bail, destroy property, resist police and two counts of stealing.

Police are also investigating an unrelated early morning burglary at KFC Kingston.

Two offenders entered the store by forcing a window open about 4.50am yesterday.

The store was closed at the time and nothing was stolen.

Anyone with information or who saw a trail bike in the area is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 (reference number OR637253).
