A LAUNCESTON man has been remanded in custody after an ‘incident’ involving an off-duty police officer in the Launceston CBD on Friday night.
In a brief statement, police said the 22-year-old appeared in an out-of-hours session of the Launceston Magistrates Court on Sunday morning charged with one count of criminal code assault, two counts of common assault, and one count of unlawfully use a dangerous article in a public place.
Police said the man was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to reappear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.
