A CANBERRA-based law firm has advertised for former Dominic College students to come forward with information about historical sexual abuse allegations.
Porters Lawyers says it is acting in the civil courts for multiple alleged victims who claim they were sexually abused as children by priests of the Salesians of Don Bosco Order.
They are calling for witnesses – including former students, boarders, teachers and parents of students from Glenorchy’s Dominic College – who had contact with David Edwin Rapson between 1976 and 1992.
Mr Rapson, a former Salesian order priest, has been charged with five counts of indecent assault dating back to the 1980s in Glenorchy and the Derwent Valley.
He is currently serving a lengthy prison term interstate for other matters, but plans are being made to transport him to Tasmania to face the allegations.
Porters Lawyers is also seeking witnesses from Boys’ Town Engadine in NSW and Salesian College Rupertswood in Victoria.
Anyone with information is asked to phone the firm on 1800 445 544.
