THE PAROLE Board of Tasmania has not yet announced its decision on whether it will release “psychopath” murderer Jamie John Curtis back into Hobart society.
The 64-year-old – who brutally raped Tameka Ridgeway, murdered her boyfriend Dean Allie, and kidnapped a 15-year-old girl in 1986 – was listed to appear for a parole hearing on Friday.
But a Department of Justice spokesman confirmed the board – which was independent of the State Government – would not announce its decision immediately, but publish it “as soon as possible”.

“However, registered victims are advised of the outcome of hearings on the day,” he said.
Curtis was denied parole in September last year after he was previously paroled in April 2018 but reincarcerated following a series of fresh offences.
If Curtis has again been denied parole, he could be subject to indefinite detention under proposed legislative changes.
