Ambulance involved in crash in Tasmania’s north

A motorist was hospitalised following a crash involving an Ambulance Tasmania vehicle and a car.

AN AMBULANCE vehicle was involved in an intersection collision which left a motorist hospitalised.

Tasmania Police Sergeant Nick Lynch said an 18-year-old female driver of a white hatchback was taken to hospital, before being released without any significant injuries, after her vehicle collided with an ambulance.

The crash happened about 7.40pm on Friday at Launceston’s Bathurst and Frederick streets intersection.

At the time of the crash the ambulance was attending an emergency in the Launceston area and had emergency equipment activated, Mr Lynch said.

Ambulance personnel were uninjured in the collision.

The crash is under investigation by Launceston Uniform Police who are appealing for any

witnesses to the crash or any person in possession of relevant dash camera footage to contact police on 131444 or online via Crimestoppers.
