A young boy has been taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital after being thrown from a ski biscuit.

A SEVEN-year-old boy is in a critical condition after being thrown from a ski biscuit at Orford.
Tasmania Police said the incident happened around 2pm Sunday on the Prosser River.
In the incident involving a recreational vessel towing children in a ski-biscuit, the 43-year-old male operator lost control of the vessel causing a boy to be thrown onto the shore.
Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania paramedics attended the scene and treated the boy. He was transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital, via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, where he was admitted in a critical condition.
The vessel operator underwent mandatory alcohol and drug testing.

Police are asking for members of the public, who may have witnessed a white runabout with a black outboard motor and maroon bimini, and towing a ski biscuit in the Prosser River about this time, to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or Orford police station on 131 444.
