A Tasmanian dancer and fast food worker has been charged with assaulting her then-partner by punching his testicles, and also bashing a woman before stealing $1000 worth of cash and devices.

Launceston teen Breanna Nicole Turner, 18, who works at a Kings Meadows fast food outlet, appeared before Magistrate Evan Hughes on Thursday charged with 14 offences, including two counts of common assault and one of stealing.

The three substantive charges are all alleged to have occurred on March 16 at Launceston.

Police allege Ms Turner assaulted her then-partner by pushing him to the chest and punching him to the testicles.

She is further alleged to have bashed a woman by pulling her hair and kneeing and kicking her, before making off with a mobile phone and cash worth $1000.

Mr Hughes questioned why Ms Turner, a single mother to a young daughter, had not yet sought legal advice.

“I’ve been trying but I’ve got a lot going on right now,” Ms Turner said.

She told the court she was currently studying a Cert IV in beauty therapy, had dance commitments, was seeking additional fast food work in Hobart, and had no-one else to look after her daughter.

Mr Hughes, while not yet directing her to enter pleas, told the defendant she needed to progress the matter.

“It is in your interest to seek advice,” he said.

“It must take some priority in your life.

“At some point the court will expect you to be in a position to enter a plea. I strongly encourage you to seek assistance.”
