A Launceston man has pleaded not guilty to three charges of common assault after it was alleged he pushed two men into the Tamar and grabbed a third by the throat.

A Launceston man who police allege pushed two people into the Tamar River at a popular boat ramp has pleaded not guilty to charges of common assault.
Rocherlea man Jarrod Matthew Fazackerly, 38, entered not guilty pleas to three charges of common assault in Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Tasmania Police allege the offences occurred at the Sidmouth Boat Ramp at Rowella Rd on September 25 last year.
It is not known at what time of day the alleged offences occurred.
The court heard Mr Fazackerly allegedly pushed two complainants into the water, while he grabbed a third by the throat.
The ages of the alleged victims are also unknown at this stage.
Magistrate Ken Stanton set the matter down for hearing on June 15 and advised Mr Fazackerly he would be required to introduce evidence and witnesses to defend the allegations.
Mr Fazackerly replied, “But the other guy’s pleaded guilty to the charges”.
There is no co-accused listed on Mr Fazackerly’s file, a Magistrates Court of Tasmania spokeswoman said.
“Another person may have been charged with similar offending on a separate complaint,” the spokeswoman said, but as the name has not been publicly released, this was unable to be confirmed.
