Jacob Stoltenberg: Kings Meadows man remanded, faces 54 charges

A young Tasmanian man is facing dozens of domestic violence charges, including that he allegedly pulled a woman by her hair, threatened her with a knife, and kneed her to the face.

A young Tasmanian man has been remanded in pre-sentence custody on 54 domestic violence charges, including that he allegedly strangled a woman, pulled her around by her hair and threatened her with a knife.

Kings Meadows man Jacob Max Stoltenberg, 22, was remanded on November 28 this year. He has been charged with 54 offences, predominantly relating to alleged breaches of bail and police family violence orders. However, he has also been charged with six counts of common assault and one of strangulation, an indictable offence which will need to be heard before the Supreme Court.

Mr Stoltenberg has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Tasmania Police allege that at a Prospect address on October 13, Mr Stoltenberg assaulted a woman by grabbing her and pushing her into a glass door, grabbing her by the throat and neck, pushing her and kneeing her to the face.

They further allege that on October 25 at the same address, Mr Stoltenberg assaulted the woman by pushing her to the ground.

That same day, he allegedly grabbed her hair and pulled her around by it, threatened her with a knife and pushed her to the ground. Tasmania Police also allege he intentionally strangled her.

Mr Stoltenberg is further alleged to have assaulted the woman three more times on a later date.

He appeared most recently in Launceston Magistrates Court on December 8.

Magistrate Sharon Cure deferred her decision on whether Mr Stoltenberg could be granted bail until December 21l.

Mr Stoltenberg is heavily involved in Muay Thai martial arts, his social media profiles reveal. He has fought professional matches held under the Legion Fight Sports banner, videos of which are available online.
