Hobart obstetrician Dr Brett Anthony Daniels pleads not guilty to assaults on patients

A Tasmanian gynaecologist and obstetrician charged with assaulting two former patients has pleaded not guilty in the Hobart Magistrates Court.

Dr Brett Anthony Daniels, 58, has been charged with one count of indecent assault, and one count of assault with indecent intent, relating to incidents understood to have occurred in Hobart in 2022 and 2025.

Magistrate Chris Webster adjourned the matter and ordered Dr Daniels reappear in court on 16 March next year.

Dr Daniels’s licence to practise medicine remains suspended by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, while his registration as a psychologist expired last month.
