A man will stand trial over the murder of Bridgewater man Tye Paul Silver, who he allegedly shot to death in January this year.

THE man charged with fatally shooting Bridgewater resident Tye Paul Silver in January has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Hayden Dale Smith, 24, has indicated he will fight allegations at trial that he killed Mr Silver, 32, on January 18 this year by shooting him inside his Douglas Street home.
On Thursday, Mr Smith appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court, pleading not guilty to one count of murder along with a number of guns charges including recklessly discharging a firearm, possessing a shortened firearm, and possessing a firearm and ammunition without an appropriate licence.
Magistrate Jackie Hartnett committed Mr Smith to the Supreme Court of Tasmania for trial.
He will appear in court on May 2 for a directions hearing.
