GLENORCHY Alderman Kelly Sims will fight allegations in court early next year that she failed to keep reports confidential.

On Tuesday, the recently-re-elected alderman appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court before Magistrate Michael Daly.

The 39-year-old West Moonah resident pleaded not guilty to two counts of failing to keep a determination report confidential.

No detail has yet been provided in court about the nature of the charges or the reports in question.

According to court documents, it is alleged Ald Sims committed the offences on October 19, 2021, in the Greater Hobart area.

The documents reveal Ald Sims allegedly contravened section 28ZK of the Local Government Act, which relates to code of conduct complaints.

The maximum penalty for the offence is 50 penalty units, which would currently equate to a maximum fine of $9050.

Mr Daly heard the hearing would likely run for two hours, with lawyer Fabiano Cangelosi expected to represent Ald Sims.

A court mention will be held on January 20, 2023, before a hearing is held on February 24.
