Close Covid contact fined

Police have fined a close contact of a confirmed Covid case after she failed to comply with the direction of the Director of Public Health by breaching quarantine requirements on Wednesday.

Authorities say the woman was stopped by police after she was found to be driving an unregistered vehicle.

She was identified as a close contact of the known covid case and fined $778.50.

Close contacts are required to quarantine for seven days after they’ve been in contact with a confirmed case.
