The two worlds of the convicted criminal and former detective are due to collide on stage, when Gary Jubelin takes his award-winning I Catch Killers podcast on the road for it’s first live record next month.

Jubelin, himself a former homicide detective, will be talking to special guests, former bank robber Jeffrey Morgan and retired Detective Chief Inspector Russell Oxford.

Morgan spent 18 years incarcerated in maximum security prisons. The reformed career criminal dabbled in petty crime before moving into serious offences including bank robberies and armed hold ups but now has a successful business career.

“It was a badge of honour to go to jail,” Morgan said.

“I’m living proof that you can start in the basement and work your way to the penthouse.”

During his final stint in prison, he realised it was time to change and set out on a journey of redemption.

Morgan turned his life around and became a successful entrepreneur, role model and motivational speaker who helps keep kids on the right side of the law.

Meanwhile Oxford spent more than 40 years solving some of Australia’s most gruesome murders and infamous cases, including arresting the famously corrupt police officer, Roger Rogerson.

Oxford’s first words to the bent copper, who was arrested for murder, were “You’re f**ked, we’ve got ya.”

The 82-year-old Rogerson was later sentenced to life in prison for the brazen murder of Jamie Gao in 2014.

Oxford also solved the horrific 1986 murder of Janine Balding, led the investigation into the mutilation murder of paedophile Frank Arkell and was among the first on the scene when police accountant Curtis Cheng was shot dead by a terrorist.

He and Morgan will trade stories from either side of the law during the live recording, which will be held on November 27 in Sydney at The Factory Theatre.
