Former NSW detective Gary Jubelin has revealed the intriguing truth about how cops hunt down killers and crack some of the nation’s most mysterious cold cases.
Jubelin has seen a dark side of the world unseen by most ordinary people.
His work at the helm of the William Tyrrell case and leading investigations into the serial killing of the Bowraville children gave him unique insight into the dark minds of criminals.
While every gruesome murder is different, there is one thing they all share – an investigation that leaves no stones unturned.
It’s this elusive process that fascinates most, but Jubelin says a murder investigation can actually be broken down into a simple process – starting with the crime scene.
“We start on the ground and look at the crime scene then there’s a bit of victimology. So we look at what lifestyle the victim had and work out from there,” he told Brisbane radio station 4BC.
“There’s no mystery, it is putting together a jigsaw puzzle.”
Jubelin’s revelations come ahead of the release of his latest podcast ‘I Catch Killers,’ giving listeners insight into the dark world of criminals, fugitives and killers.
