Urgent recall of Toshiba laptop item due to fire hazard

A Toshiba laptop adaptor has been recalled following safety concerns.
Dangerous incidents have been reported globally with the Toshiba laptop AC adaptor that has caused burn injuries and damage to property.
The material inside the adaptor’s DC-IN plug can degrade over time, potentially causing the plug to overheat and catch on fire.
The adaptor could cause burns, serious injuries, damage to property or even death if it catches on fire.
Consumers have been warned to stop using the adaptor immediately and unplug it from the wall.
The adaptors were provided with the Toshiba laptops when the latter was purchased, or they were given as replacements during repairs.
They’ve been for sale at major retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and The Good Guys.
Consumers should also visit the Dynabook recall website to check if their adaptor has been recalled.
Customers with recalled adaptors can use the website to register to return the adaptor for a free replacement.
