THE Grill Team’s Mark Geyer has come out in vocal support of the Jillaroos and an established competition for women under the NRL.

“I watched the Jillaroos against the Ferns and I have to say that was entertaining,’’ Geyer said on the show Monday.

The Australians and New Zealand league sides took on each other at Hunter stadium on Friday night with the Ferns running out 26-16 victors.

“I’m going to say something outlandish here ... there should be a competition for the girls under the NRL.’’

Geyer said more and more women are playing the game and he would love to see a competition played on a regular basis.

“It would be great for the games image, bring a lot more girls into the sport which is what we need,’’ Geyer continued.

“They play a flamboyant style of rugby league that is a throwback.’’
