The Tasmania JackJumpers have added to their backcourt depth with the signing of Brody Nunn for the upcoming NBL season.

The Victorian guard has signed on as a development player for season 2024-25 with the club able to extend his deal for another year.

Nunn joins the reigning champions in the midst of an impressive NBL1 South season for the Knox Raiders where he is averaging 14.89 points, 4.37 assists and 1.32 steals a game.

He also has experience in the US college system with Seattle University where he spent the 2022-23 season.

“Brody has shown since coming back from college his commitment to improving himself both on and off the court. His determination and passion for the game are exactly what we look for in a JackJumper,” the NBL club’s general manager Mika Vukona said.

“Brody embodies the gritty, relentless, selfless attitude we pride ourselves on as JackJumpers.”

Smithton product Nash Walker has helped Australia get off to a perfect start at the FIBA under-17 world cup in Turkey.

The Crocs have won their opening two games against Egypt (85-82) and 74-60 over Germany before their next clash against Canada early Wednesday morning.

Walker contributed three points, two rebounds and two assists against Egypt, before producing five points and two rebounds in the victory over the Germans.

The Crocs’ clash with Canada looms as their toughest group match thus far, but Australia already appears through to the next round with the top two sides in the four-team group to progress.

“I’m confident in the group, and I know the group’s confident we’ll hit the ground running in Turkey,” Walker said before he left for the tournament.

Meanwhile, fellow Tasmanian Aiden Gibson has committed to Fort Lewis College in Colorado.

Gibson was part of Tasmania’s squad which claimed bronze at this year’s under-20 national championships.
