Video has emerged of members of the victorious Australian cricket team being moved on by Tasmania Police at what appears to be a terrace at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hobart where the team was staying.
The video shows a number of the Australian cricket team, along with English captain Joe Root and Jimmy Anderson drinking in the early hours of the morning on a terrace at the hotel with a heavy police presence on hand along with hotel staff to escort them from the area.
Nathan Lyon, Alex Carey, and Travis Head appear to be among the Aussie early morning revellers shown in the footage.
The video shows four police officers along with three hotel staff surrounding the players before escorting them off the terrace.
In the video you can hear one of the police officers tell the players “you’re too loud” before the cricketers eventually take the notice and move on to inside the hotel.
The incident appears to have taken place in the morning after the Aussie Ashes victory with the players still in their whites.
In a statement just released by Tasmania Police they confirmed the incident took place the morning after the Ashes victory and that no official action was taken against the players.
“Tasmania Police attended the Crowne Plaza Hobart on Monday morning after reports were made of intoxicated people in a function area.
“The guests were spoken to by police just after 6:00am and left the area when asked.
“No further action will be taken by police.”
