Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in the spotlight at the NBA Playoffs

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke covered her face with her hands and was crying with laughter when the camera found her in Houston.

She has no trouble handling dragons but Emilia Clarke lost it when an NBA mascot — and the camera — found her during a playoffs match yesterday.

The Game of Thrones star, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the hit TV show, was courtside for Houston’s loss to Golden State in Game 6 of their series — a result which ended the Rockets’ season — and she had nowhere to hide when she unexpectedly became the centre of attention.

Rockets mascot Clutch was strutting down the floor when he noticed the special guest in attendance. Shocked, he did what so many Game of Thrones characters have been instructed to do by the Mother of Dragons over the years, and bent the knee.

Embarrassed by all the commotion, Clarke lost it, laughing hysterically as she covered her face with her hands and bowed her head before treating fans to a wave.

The laughs kept coming as the actress thanked Clutch for his show of respect.

It won’t have escaped Game of Thrones fans that Clutch wandered over to Clarke with a coffee cup in tow — a reference to a takeaway cup accidentally being left in a scene of the latest episode to go to air.

Unfortunately for Rockets fans Clarke’s appearance didn’t inspire the team to play like Dragons as they were overrun 118-113 by the Warriors.

Steph Curry scored all of his 33 points in the second half to lead the Warriors to the five-point victory while Klay Thompson added 27 points to help two-time defending champions reach the Western Conference Finals for a franchise-record fifth straight year and eliminate Houston for the fourth time in five seasons.

The Warriors did it with star Kevin Durant sidelined by a calf injury sustained in the second half of their Game 5 victory.

“We’re all very happy, but now we’ve got to get home and get some rest and prepare for the next round,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said.
