EMBARRASSED and bloody, Caio Magalhaes lost the plot in a moment of madness at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale today.

The Brazilian was forced to tap out of his middleweight fight against American Josh Samman in the first round.

He was rocked by a blow from Samman which got the claret flowing from his nose and then wasn’t able to get back to his feet after Samman trapped him with a rear naked choke hold.

It was after the fight, though, that things got really messy for Magalhaes.

After submitting, the 27-year-old was asked by the Octagon referee to shake hands with Samman, but instead spat a mouthful of blood towards his opponent.

Samman is seen before the spit walking towards Magalhaes offering his hand only for Magalhaes to tap it away with his fist before launching his bloody saliva at Samman as he was in the process of turning away.

Here is how the ugly incident unfolded:

While Samman was able to brush off Magalhaes’ unsportsmanlike conduct, his camp has not as forgiving.

The win improved Samman’s record to 12-3 and he is now in-line to earn a major pay day with a big fight against a high ranked opponent in upcoming UFC events this year.

The UFC is yet to announce if it will take action against Magalhaes, but UFC president Dana White has always taken a serious view of these kinds of acts because of the way they tarnish the sports reputation.

A number of UFC fans took to Twitter to declare their disaste for Magalhaes’ act.
