Ronda Rousey says she earns more than Floyd Mayweather, and says he’s illiterate

THE battle between Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey has intensified, with the champion boxer accusing Rousey of being poor and an attention seeker.

FLOYD Mayweather has returned serve at Ronda Rousey after she claimed to earn more than him before calling him illiterate.

Rousey said she earned two-to-three times more per second than Mayweather, then taunted him by saying he couldn’t read or write.

The boxer issued a statement in reply saying: “Big bank take little bank. Let’s play and see how much money you got.

“Last time I checked I was no. 1 on Forbes (money list). She will never be at my status. Keep trying to get publicity.”

Rousey provoked the new war of words when she took aim at Mayweather’s most prized asset after his ego — his wallet.

“I don’t know if you saw the Floyd thing, he said, ‘If you make $300 million in a night you can give me a call’. I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter, and I’m a woman,” said Rousey.

“I think I actually make two to three times more than he does per second. When he learns to read and write, he can text me...I’m just a little bit more efficient.”

The 28-year-old slammed the boxer in June this year after winning the “Best Fighter” award at the ESPYs ahead of him, saying: “I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once”.

The five-division world champion hit back by telling Rousey to “call me” when she made $US300 million in one night, like he reportedly did for his bout with Manny Pacquiao back in May.

Rousey claimed she could beat Mayweather in a no-rules fight.

Rousey took just 34 seconds to annihilate Bethe Correia in her last fight, officially making $6,764 per second. However, as UFC doesn’t reveal its pay-per-view numbers, her official earnings are unknown.

Regardless, Rousey’s assertion that she’s not exactly in danger of slipping below the poverty line is completely true. Earlier this month it was revealed she had come in at number eight on a Forbes rich list for the highest paid women in sport.

Between June 2014 and June 2015, she pocketed $6.5 million from a combination of fight purses and sponsorship deals.

Mayweather’s father Floyd Mayweather Snr was riled up by her claims and took aim at the American.

“Ronda Rousey...that woman needs to shut up,” Mayweather Snr told FighthubTV.

“She can’t whoop no man, she can’t whip you.

“She can tell all the lies she want to tell. I know you ain’t going for that. That lets me know you are a smart man.”

The feud between the two fighters has been going for over a year, and started when Mayweather Jnr claimed not to know who Rousey was, despite her being one of the most famous UFC fighters in the world.
