Dana White says Ronda Rousey is best in the business

RONDA Rousey is fast becoming a household name, so it is no wonder UFC boss Dana White has given her this most honourable label.

THE UFC has featured a tonne of huge stars over the years from Chuck Liddell to Georges St-Pierre to Brock Lesnar, but according to Dana White none has been bigger than current women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Rousey has become a pop culture phenomenon since joining the UFC just more than two years ago and recently her celebrity has reached an unbelievable status with her quotes being used at Beyonce concerts and movie offers popping up left and right.

Even in the current atmosphere of the UFC, where fighters like Conor McGregor are getting a swarm of attention, White says it’s not a horse race at all when it comes to who is the biggest fighter in the world.

“It’s Ronda Rousey, there’s no doubt about it,” White said on ‘UFC Tonight’.

“Just today they announced that she is the new Dalton! ‘Road House’ is being remade and she’s going to be the lead.

“She’s got books and she’s got all these movies coming out and she continues to get bigger and bigger. Her pay-per-views and everything.”

White said Rousey is bigger even than self proclaimed “life-changer” Conor McGregor.

While the UFC never releases pay-per-view sales for any card, industry sources have stated that UFC 190, which featured Rousey against Bethe Correia in the main event, could go down as the highest-selling card of the year with figures reaching close to seven figures.

Besides the new role in “Road House”, Rousey also has a biopic being made from her book ‘My Fight/Your Fight’, where she will play herself in a Hollywood retelling of her life story.

Rousey will head off to Indonesia in the first half of 2016 to film a new movie with Mark Wahlberg titled “Mile 22” while also prepping for her next title defence at UFC 193 in Australia, where the card may break the all-time attendance record for the promotion with more than 70,000 fans in attendance.

When it comes to Rousey versus everybody else in the UFC today or yesterday, White says the contest isn’t even close.

“There’s never been a bigger star than Ronda Rousey,” White said.

If Rousey can produce numbers for her upcoming fight similar to what she did in August, 2015 it will definitely go down as her biggest year yet. Considering what she has on deck next year, 2016 might be even bigger.
