Hawks sharpshooter Ash Mawer continues to build her case to be the TNL’s ‘GOAT’ after winning a sixth Most Valuable Player award on Saturday night.

After co-captaining the Hawks to a third straight title, the goal-shooter may need to build an extension on her trophy cabinet after collecting her fourth straight MVP.

Mawer was one of four Hawks to be selected in the All Star Team, alongside Lynette Childs, Ellie Marshall and Lydia Coote, her fellow co-captain who announced her retirement after their grand final win over the Cavaliers.

Young defender Paige O’Neill, who was selected to tour Fiji with an Australian under-21 squad, was runner-up in MVP voting in her debut season at open level.

The teenager was named best first year opens player, and finished her campaign marking Mawer in the decider.

O’Neill was also one of three Cavs named in the All Star team, with Hayley McDougall and captain Shelby Miller also making the cut.

The All Star team was rounded out by Cripps Waratah pair Alex and Hannah Vinen and Kingston’s Ashlea Turner.

In the under-19s, Cripps Waratah captain Abbey Geappen was named MVP after a superb year marshalling the grand finalists’ centre court.

Hawks defender Isabella Sherriff was runner up in voting, with the best first year player won by Sophie Sherriff.

Geappen and both Sherriffs were joined in the under-19 All Star team by Grace Ebbelaar, Milana Harnett, Asha Lowe, Olivia Bender, Lucy McArthur, Sophie Brewer and Matilda Franklin.
