The world-class Red Bull Hardline is coming back to Tasmania in 2025

Local hero “Danger” Dan Booker is back to tackle the world-class Red Bull Hardline at Maydena next summer after his untimely crash this year. Here’s the date for 2025.

The highly-successful Red Bull Hardline is back for a second year with the world’s toughest downhill mountain bike competition to hit the slopes at Maydena again on February 7-8.

Hardline warrior and local mountain bike hero, Tasmanian Dan Booker, was proud of the event served up by his home state.

“It was incredible to be a part of Red Bull Hardline this year in Tasmania,” Booker said.

“Growing up in Tassie I never really dreamed of events of this scale coming to my home.

“Everyone involved should be very proud of the event, it was a massive success.”

The edge-of-your-seat challenge saw riders weave their way at speed through trees, over rocks and jumps on a world-class track.

The event in February saw history made with wildcard Gracey Hemstreet, of Canada, and Louise-Anna Ferguson, of the UK, become the first ever female riders to compete in a Red Bull Hardline final.

“I loved the course,” Booker said.

“There were obviously some extremely intimidating features but they were so well-built that after the first few hits the riders were feeling really comfortable on the course.

“The trail designers and builders did such an amazing job at pushing the sport but also keeping the riders safe.”

Huge crowds went bush for Hardline and event organisers are hoping for bigger support next summer.

“I felt massive support from the locals,” Booker said.

“Being from Tasmania I had people constantly coming up to me cheering me on and wishing me well.

“Unfortunately, I crashed up high on the course so I didn’t get to ride in front of the big crowds at the bottom of the course but people have shown me videos of the entire crowd chanting my name when they knew I was on course.

“I’m really gutted I didn’t get to experience that but I can’t tell you how much that support means to me.

“Another cool thing about Red Bull Hardline Tasmania is how accessible it is for the public to meet and talk to some of the biggest names in the sport.”

That’s why Booker will be back.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “It was the highlight event of my career so far and it’s only going to be better next time around.

“I’d highly recommend coming out to watch and see the scale of the event and the course in person.”
