The Tasmania JackJumpers are set to host Melbourne United in two pre-season matches later this month as preparations ramp up for the start of NBL24.
Fans in the state’s north will have the chance to see the JackJumpers face off with United on August 28 in Ulverstone and again on August 30 in Launceston. Both games will tip off at 6:30pm.
The JackJumpers will head to the north and north west of the state for their pre-season camp from August 25 and will also host a number of basketball clinics, club and school visits over the six-day camp.
JackJumpers co-CEO Jorrick Chivers said the club was looking forward to connecting with a part of that state they don’t see on a day-to-day basis.
“We’re delighted to be headed back to the state’s north for another pre-season camp,” Chivers said.
“Our fans in the north and north west are among the most passionate in Australia and we genuinely love getting up there and into the community.
“We’re excited to have Melbourne United here for a Battle of Bass Strait. It’ll be a great opportunity to test the squad against quality opposition and solidify our first block of pre-season training.
“It’s always great to showcase NBL level basketball to fans across the north of the state and engage with the passionate fan base up there.”
The JackJumpers kick off their NBL24 campaign against the Perth Wildcats on September 29 before hosting the Sydney Kings at MyState Bank Arena on October 6.
