Tasmania JackJumpers draw strong home fixture for NBL25 with games on both AFL Grand Final and Christmas Day

Tasmanian basketball fans will once again get the chance to celebrate Christmas Day at MyState Bank Arena with the JackJumpers set to play on December 25 for the second straight season.
The NBL will release the fixture for season 2024-25 on Friday with the NBL24 champions set to kick off their campaign with back-to-back clashes against the side they defeated in last seasons’ epic grand final series, Melbourne United.
They will play the first of those contests in round one as apart of the first HoopsFest in Perth before squaring off at MyState Bank Arena on Saturday September 28.
That clash will take place at 8pm but will be on AFL Grand Final Day.
The JackJumpers will play 12 of their 14 home matches at Hobart’s MyState Bank Arena with two games to be played at the Silverdome in Launceston.
The first will be on October 18 against Sydney before they return on November 1 against South East Melbourne.
After drawing both the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day games last season, the JackJumpers have been given just the December 25 clash for NBL25.
They’ll host New Zealand with a time for that clash still to be confirmed.
“Christmas Day has become a unique feature of the NBL calendar securing huge broadcast numbers and the JackJumpers have once again been selected to host a home game on this day, which is a great opportunity to continue to build the brand of Tasmania and the JackJumpers,” JackJumpers CEO Christine Finnegan said.
Locals will also be spoiled in early January with three games at MyState Bank Arena over two weeks.
Matches will be played on Sunday January 5, Friday January 10 and Sunday Jaunary 12 before two further home games to end the season.
