The Tasmania Devils will unveil their newest recruit on Tuesday to celebrate the first anniversary of the state’s AFL club and they hope their 207,000 members plus fans “fall in love” with what it describes as “a key position player”.
The Devils will stage their big reveal at 10am on Tuesday and then unveil its recruit to 350 members at a one-year birthday party that night as they launch their 2025 membership offerings.
Already boasting an AFL-record membership, club executive officer Kath McCann hopes the Devils can build on their unprecedented support.
But first, the launch of the recruit.
“I’d probably refer to this recruit as a key position player,” she said.
“The recruit will certainly make an impact, it’s uniquely Tasmanian and will represent our club with pride and determination, which we are very excited about.
“I hope they fall in love with our new recruit, and that their first reaction is our recruit is a great representation of Tasmania.
“We have worked in partnership with several members of the community over the past nine months to bring this recruit to life and we can’t wait to see the reaction.”
The Devils reached into the community to learn what footy fans wanted next.
“There will be another $10 membership option, which will give our members the opportunity to continue to make their statement around the Devils’ journey into the AFL and AFLW,” McCann said.
“The difference about this statement is that it’s personalised statements, so the member can choose the statement that best represents the reason they became a member of the Tasmania Devils.
“It is fair to say they [statements] are representative of all the different people among the 207,000 that have joined the Devils.
“There will also be a range of other options for people to get involved, like special edition merchandise, special edition products and the opportunity to gain access to things that have never been seen before.”
