FOR Fahan the SATIS girls soccer grand final is all about school pride – with a little bit of revenge thrown in.

Fahan will take on Launceston Church Grammar in the state final at Sandown on Tuesday, with the match to be streamed live by the Mercury.

It is a repeat of last year’s decider, where Launceston Grammar were victorious 2-1.

Fahan sports captain and winger Charlotte Ingram, 18, said it meant a lot for a small school like theirs to make the state final.

SATIS SCHOOL FINALS

Tuesday:

Girls Soccer Fahan v Launceston Grammar Sandown – 1pm

Wednesday:

Girls Basketball St Mary’s College v Marist College Hobart Netball & Sports Centre – 9:30am

“There are lots of close friends in the team and it will be our last soccer game ever for the school, so hopefully we can have a lot of fun,” Ingram said.

“You want to represent your school well and have good sportsmanship out on the field.

“Of course revenge is a bit of a motivation, but hopefully we can just play a good game.”

But it wont be easy.

While the northern SATIS schools have just finished their roster before the state final, the southern soccer roster finished at the end of term one.

“The north get the advantage as we haven’t played a game since first term.

We’ve put in bit of practice but it is pretty hard. The north have just come off their season.”

The Mercury will also be live streaming the basketball, netball, boys’ soccer and hockey SATIS finals on Wednesday.
