Good Odds Harada is prepared by Londonderry-based husband and wife team Frank and Tracey Hurst, extending his impressive resume to 19 wins from just 41 starts, including 10 now at the famed Glebe circuit.
“I just can’t believe this,” Frank Hurst said.
“The crowd was buzzing, I am buzzing ... the roar was deafening. He ran the race of his life and is just a star but he really needed to.
“Greyhound racing should stand tall and be proud of what it has achieved in NSW. I’m beyond speechless - this is life changing.”
The speed battle was on from box-rise with Good Odds Hararda best to begin yet, on his inside, the hugely talented Get It Gizmo was pressuring.
Through the first turn, Shima Shine - the ‘veteran’ of just 11 lifetime outings - extended to be second and the pair raced clear on sizzling sectionals.
While Shima Shine was within striking distance mid-race, there was no surrender in Good Odds Harada and he prevailed to a thunderous roar by two lengths.
On a night of high celebrations, WA staying star Boom Down collared Blue Moon Rising in the final bound of the Group 1 Sydney Cup (720m), while evergreen veteran Blabba Mouth posted a dashing all-the-win win in the $100,000 to-the-winner Masters Meteor (520m).
But the night belonged to Good Odds Harada and Frank and Tracey Hurst.
In its infancy, the only two millionaire greyhounds have been based in Western Sydney.
In 2018, the recently retired Mystic Riot won in commanding fashion for Peter Lagogiane, while last night’s spoils heads to Londonderry where there be the cause for huge celebrations in western sydney.

In the aftermath of Friday night’s remarkable victory by Good Odds Harada, his breeder Barry Ward said the Million Dollar Chase’s mum Solar Pak is on the way to be mated to Kinloch Brae.
“She’s due on season and she’ll head his way when the time comes - their value just went up but they will be for sale for people to chase their dream as well,” Ward beamed.
