Snoop Dogg is livin’ his best life at the Paris Olympics with no room for negativity.

The rap icon was all of America as he cheered on Caeleb Dressel to a record-breaking gold medal at the Paris La Defense Arena on Sunday morning (AEST).

Snoop Doggy Dogg Funky exploded as America scorched the field in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay final, with his celebrator antics overshadowing even the swimmer’s wife.

The 52-year-old artist was sitting in the stands alongside Meghan Dressel, who was holding her sleeping baby in hand, and the pair went ballistic.

A video that circulated on social media shows Dogg and Dressel screaming toward the pool, encouraging Team USA to secure the gold. Luckily for Baby Dressel, he had earmuffs so his sleep was not interrupted.

Once it was certain the U.S. would win the medal, Dogg and Dressel high-fived in elation.

Kyle Chalmers produced a freakish final leg swim of 46.59 seconds to push Australia to the silver medal, but the Americans were never troubled.

Caeleb and Meghan cried during the Dressel family celebration at pool deck.

For Dressel, 27, it was his eighth gold medal from three Olympics, and he was tearful in the celebrations.

“I mean, you can’t help it. You can’t explain this moment. So you’re on the podium watching the flag go up. Hunter (crying) actually happened before the flag went up. So it’s really special seeing that,” he said.

Dressel won five golds in Tokyo three years ago but took time out from the sport before coming back in time to qualify.

He appreciated seeing his younger teammates Guiliano and Alexy win their first Olympic golds.

“I remember how it was for me with my first gold. I mean, I lost it.

“No one can take that away from us.”

There was more emotion for Dressel when he was able to celebrate with his wife Megan and their baby son August.

“It’s really special, making the team in front of them and then winning a gold in front of them. Just checking little boxes that I never would have thought to create throughout my career,” he said.

The American quartet of Jack Alexy, Chris Guiliano, Hunter Armstrong and Dressel came home in 3min 09.28sec - well clear of Australia and Italy.

The United States have long dominated the event, winning 10 of the 14 times it has been on the Olympic program before Paris.

The D.O.G.G has been creating plenty of headlines in Paris after he was one of the final Olympic torch bearers in the lead-up to the Opening Ceremony.
