Nicole Kidman and her family have caught Olympic fever in Paris.

Since taking to the stands for the Matildas’ opening match in Marseille, Kidman has been one of the most prominent celebrity cheerleaders at the Games.

“I love sport and the Olympics,” she exclusively told News Corp.

“I’m here to cheer on the Aussies and the Americans and actually everyone because there’s something about the hope (of it) right now that’s really important.”

Her highlight so far is the gold medal haul from the female swimmers.

Kidman even joked that it would have been her sport had she ever been an athlete.

“I did swim at school and I did bring home a ribbon for breaststroke so maybe I would’ve been a breaststroker,’’ she said.

“I brought home a blue ribbon, it was the only ribbon I ever won at the school carnival.”

The actor will next be seen at the volleyball and gymnastics before heading back to Texas where she is filming TV series Lioness.

She plans to stay up to date with all the Australian results, particularly in track and field.

“We won’t be here for that but I’ll be watching on TV like everyone else,” she said.

“When you’ve worked so hard at something and put in so much effort and tenacity... whether you get a medal or whatever happens it’s outstanding.”

Kidman stepped out in a white Valentino two piece outfit on the red carpet for the Her Time event at Omega House with daughter Sunday Rose, 16, which celebrated more than a century of innovation and design with women and watches.

She has been an ambassador with the luxury Swiss watchmaker since 2005. They are the official timekeepers of the Olympic Games.

Kidman is already looking towards Brisbane in 2032 and said she’ll happily wave her supporter flag once more.

“Hey Brissie, c’mon, let’s do it. I’ll be cheering on.”
