A POTENTIAL Maroon bolter, a strong return from injury and just what are the Broncos missing? Here’s five things we learned from Brisbane’s 25-10 win over New Zealand.
1) COREY Oates is State of Origin material. He should recover from his shoulder injury in time to push for Maroons selection. Dane Gagai and Darius Boyd deserve to be first wingers picked but Oates is next.
2) BRISBANE are missing the work rate and dummy-half running ability of Justin Hodges. James Roberts has to increase his involvement. He appeared injured last night which explains some of his performance but his team needs more from him.

3) MATT Gillett is severely underrated. He has had an excellent start to the season. He topped the tackle count against New Zealand, scored a try and made a series of crucial tackles.
4) JACK Reed proved he deserved to be rushed back into centre. His first half try was outstanding but he is facing significant pressure from Jordan Kahu who is perhaps too versatile for his own good.
5) THE Warriors players deserve blame if Andrew McFadden is sacked as expected in the coming weeks. For all the faults of McFadden’s structure the players are making lack of effort errors. Captain Ryan Hoffman made two crucial mistakes.
