NRL SuperCoach Draft is back — with some massive changes for 2022! Here’s why you should start assembling your Draft league now.

KFC SuperCoach is back and now it’s time to Draft.

If you love fantasy sports but not KFC SuperCoach Classic then Draft is for you. KFC SuperCoach Draft is radically different from Classic, as people take turns picking players in a free-for-all.

Draft mode is fantasy sports in its purest form. There is no salary cap, you don’t have to worry about ‘cheapies’ and once a player is drafted they become off-limits to the rest of the league. In other words, every team is unique.

Here’s why you should sign up today and start assembling your Draft league.

SURGING POPULARITY

Signups have gone through the roof in in recent years as more and more KFC SuperCoaches flock to Draft, so we’ve devoted more resources accordingly. While Classic is still the most popular form of KFC SuperCoach, Draft is getting bigger every year, more than doubling in sign-ups over the last three years.

On top of the many new features implemented last year, we have even more amazing changes coming to the platform for 2022.

Tom Trbojevic will be the first player picked in many drafts.

EVERY TEAM IS UNIQUE

While many teams in KFC SuperCoach Classic look very similar, with lots of people having the same cheapies and guns, every team in Draft is unique. The fact that no one else can have your players really makes you emotionally attached to your players, and will get you way more invested in the NRL.

YET ANOTHER EXCUSE TO WATCH FOOTY

Since every one of your teams is unique, you’ll feel a greater attachment to some of your players and now have another excuse to watch the footy. It also gives you more of a reason to watch NRL games you would otherwise have no stake in, as well as watching games that look trash on paper could be better if you have a player to cheer on.

MOCK DRAFTS ARE HERE!

By far the biggest change to KFC SuperCoach Draft this year is MOCK DRAFTS! No longer do you need create a league with people or join random leagues to participate in a draft and get a sense of what rounds players are being chosen, because now you can do a mock draft.

Before setting up your league, you can test out different league sizes and settings. Ahead of Draft Day, you can trial different selection strategies and outcomes from any pick position. Or simply give our Pre Draft and Live Draft system a test run. There are hundreds of mock drafts available, with all conceivable settings, at any time. Get drafting in five minutes or less!

I cannot stress enough how important mock drafting is to your draft preparation, and now it’s easier than ever.

COMPLETELY CUSTOMISABLE SQUAD SIZES

In addition to the numerous pre-defined options available, you can now also create your own squad size. Pick how many players you want on each line and in each position, plus a completely customisable short or long bench. Your team make up is your commissioner’s call.

GREATER CONTROLS OVER PRE-DRAFT & PLAYER RANKINGS

In addition to drag and drop when setting your player rankings, you can now also click on each player’s ranking number and update it — your player will then be automatically moved to their new ranking position that you’ve assigned. Use the comprehensive player filters to view desired player groupings.

OTHER NEW FEATURES & CUSTOMISATION OPTIONS

Draft leagues will also have improved options for the finals series in 2022, with the ability to set your finals to your desired settings (the default will be a grand final in Round 24).

We also have improved the pre-draft player rankings, allowing users to more easily move players around, in addition to the drag and drop method.

Keeper leagues have some new options, including setting a minimum number of players that need to be kept or removed, as well as improvements to the pre-draft filters.

PLAYER POSITION UPDATES

You asked, you got it! Player positions will be reviewed at regular intervals during the season, with dual-position status assigned to players if their on-field role changes. Expect updates on the completion of Rounds 6, 12 and 18.

RE-BUILT LIVE DRAFT

We’ve been working behind the scenes to re-work the Live Draft systems to deliver an even smoother and more reliable experience, for your all-important Draft night.

FUN, BANTER AND PRIZE MONEY

Because Draft leagues are so much more personal and competitive than Classic leagues, there is much more opportunity to have fun and banter.

Have a live draft party with all your league mates, come up with a fun competition to determine the draft order, make a Facebook group for banter. You could even have punishments for those who finish last, buy a league trophy, draft players you love, just do whatever makes SuperCoach fun for your league!

While there is no official prize money for KFC SuperCoach Draft, the format is perfectly suited for you and your league mates to put your money where your mouth is and have some money on the line.
