SuperCoach NRL: Five things we learned from Raiders v Sharks
The Raiders produced one of the best team tries of the year, two massive SuperCoach PODs have emerged, as well as two sell candidates. Recap an insane Thursday Night Footy with the five things we learned.
The Raiders produced one of the best team tries of the year, two massive SuperCoach PODs have emerged, and its time to move on from one cheapie.
Recap our live blog coverage below and see the XX things we learned.
1. MASSIVE PODS EMERGE
They’ve already looked good in patches so far this year, but both Hudson Young (106 points) and Briton Nikora (78 points) shape as intriguing SuperCoach options going forward. And to make Young’s score even more impressive was the fact that he lost 10 points after being sinbinned.
Both owned by less than 6000 SuperCoaches, they are massive PODs with massive attacking upside and serious try-scoring pedigree. As of tonight, Nikora is averaging a try in every game so far this year, while Young now has three on the season.
At $655k and $624k respectively, both Young and Nikora will cost you a pretty penny, but they could be great options going forward.
2. NICHOLSON BUY PAYS OFF
While many SuperCoaches were starting to entertain the idea that he could be a sell next week, Matty Nicholson (91 points) produced another massive performance to keep the cash train rolling for a bit longer. With a breakeven of 32 heading into the week, Nicholson is set for another $48k price rise this week, taking his breakeven back down to 4. He is now a comfortable hold!
3. BIG RED STILL HAS IT
Likewise Corey Horsburgh was starting to be discussed as a possible sell as he looks to slowly be heading towards his price ceiling, but he produced another respectible score of 62, basically all in pure base stats. With numbers like these he could just be a hold all season, as long as his minutes remain high.
4. TIME TO SELL STARLING
While the two Raiders I mentioned above are definite holds, one guy it is time to move on from is Tom Starling, who funnily enough is projected to lose a whopping $75 this week! Not sure I’ve ever seen anyone lose such little cash after a round. His minutes have gone down after the first two rounds, and are now hovering around 50-60 insteasd of 60-70, with Owen Pattie coming on at dummy half and helping spark the Raiders comeback. He’s made some decent cash, but its time to sell in Round 6. Luckily SuperCoaches have a possible downgrade option in Eels hooker Ryley Smith.
5. AVOID NICHO
Nicho Hynes has produced another mixed performance, scoring just 42 SuperCoach points, setting up a near $18k price drop. While he is a strong avoid going forward, he may even be a SELL, with a projected breakeven of 131 heading into Round 6.
