Proposals, weddings, newborns: NRL stars wrap up the off-season with major milestones
New Knights recruit Dylan Brown has welcomed his newborn son, Panthers skipper Isaah Yeo has tied the knot while other NRL stars got down on one knee. See all the off-season action.
Marquee Knights signing Dylan Brown has started another chapter in his new life in Newcastle, welcoming his first child with his partner Bella.
Brown, who signed a 10-year deal worth around $13 million to join the Knights from 2026, is yet to officially hit the training paddock for pre-season but has well and truly set down roots in his new home town.
The 25-year-old moved from Dural in Sydney’s west to New Lambton over two months ago in preparation for the birth of his son, Marley.
Brown and his partner announced the birth of their son over the weekend, with a series of touching photos of Marley on social media.
Marley is the latest addition to the young couple’s blended family, with Bella also a mum to her adorable four-year old daughter Micah.
Earlier this month, Brown joked that he hoped Marley did not grow up to adopt one of the steel city’s most popular hair trends.
“Hopefully, my son doesn’t have a mullet because they’re pretty popular up there, so I’ll steer him away from those,” Brown said.
Brown, who ended his Kiwis campaign with a brilliant individual performance in the Pacific Championship final, isn’t due back to pre-season training for at least two weeks.
But the playmaker is expected to report earlier than his official start date to acclimatise to his new surroundings and teammates.
Penrith superstar Brian To’o and his wife Moesha also added another tiny tot to their young family in November.
The couple already have a two-year-old son, Atreus, and earlier this month welcomed their newborn daughter, Courage, to the world.
To’o was part of Samoa’s Pacific Championship campaign and isn’t expected back at training at the foot of the mountains until after the club’s Christmas break.
To’o’s teammate and Panthers co-captain Isaah Yeo also had reason to celebrate this off-season.
Yeo and his long-term partner Ashleigh, who stunned in an off-the-shoulder floor length a-line gown, tied the knot in a Byron Bay wedding at the popular Fig Tree estate, which boasts breathtaking views and lush green gardens.
The special day was shared with their three-young children, Haven, Lennox and Tatum.
In the shire, love is in the air with two Sharks dropping to one knee, including star halfback Nicho Hynes.
Hynes proposed to his partner Piper on a boat in the beautiful Sydney harbour, sharing video of the moment of Instagram.
In the shire, Cronulla prop Braden Hamlin-Uele dropped to one knee as in a water-side proposal to his partner Chenille.
“I consider myself the luckiest man alive that you are the first person I see to start my day and the last person I see to end my day,” Hamlin-Uele said, as he shared the news of their engagement.
“I cannot imagine life without you, I love you my wife to be.”
While Hamlin-Uele has made his union official, the Cronulla star became a free agent from November 1 but is hoping to secure his future with the Sharks beyond season 2026.
Love was in the air in Brisbane, too.
Fresh from winning a premiership ring in October, boom Broncos forward Xavier Willison put an engagement ring on the finger of his partner Tayla this month.
Willison’s young daughter offered her father a helping hand to get down on one knee, proposing to his new fiancee in a touching beach side proposal.
