It’s been a rough couple of weeks for competition heavyweights Gold Coast who find themselves outside the top four going into Round 5.
But there’s one department they can boast to be the best in and that’s on this masthead’s list of the top NRLW players under 24, thanks to centre Jaime Chapman.
The 22-year-old was ranked 15th in our list of top-50 NRLW players, but has overtaken Dragons superstar Teagan Berry, ranked fourth, as the best young player in the game.
After a hat trick in the grand final last year, Chapman was NSW’s brightest star in their State of Origin series loss to Queensland earlier this year.
And she’s carried the same form into the start of the NRLW season, scoring the fourth hat trick of her career against the Wests Tigers in Round 3.
While the Titans have lost their past two games, it’s only a matter of time before Chapman and her side bounce back.
Berry though remains one of the best young prospects in the league.
She’s scored four in four games this year but has shown growth defensively at fullback after shifting to No.1 last season.
As the NRLW expands and pushes towards professionalism in the coming seasons, these are the young stars set to light up the game for years to come.
