Second Tigers teammate joins Lachlan Galvin pile-on with savage Insta post

Two star Tigers players have left no doubt about where they stand with Lachie Galvin in some absolutely savage social media posts.

Is Gould plotting a move to lure Galvin?

Another Wests Tigers player has joined the pile-on of Lachlan Galvin after Jarome Luai has made his feelings blatantly clear about the saga.

Luai along with his fellow members of the leadership group reportedly fronted coach Benji Marshall and said they didn’t want Galvin in the team.

The 28-year-old took things a step further on Tuesday after the Tigers named their squad for their upcoming clash against the Parramatta Eels.

Galvin was sensationally axed from the Easter Monday clash and shortly after the team list emerged, Luai took to social media to deliver a clear shot at the 19-year-old.

Luai posted an image of an anime character with several fists raised with bold writing which read: “TeamFirst.”

Further completing the post to his Instagram story, Luai added Kendrick Lamar’s hit song ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’.

NRL 360 host Braith Anasta also weighed in, believing there was no subtlety about Luai’s social media post.

“He’s just pretty much said, ‘if you don’t want to be a part of this team, see you later, work your way back in,’” Anasta said.

Speaking on NRL 360, journalist Andrew Webster applauded Luai’s strong stance.

“I love Jarome. In a game where so many are players are too scared to be themselves, he’s unashamedly himself,” Webster said.

“(The Instagram post is) just another way of (Luai) saying we’re not going to put up with Lachlan Galvin deciding not to play with us,” Webster added.

Turuva's cold Galvin diss

Tigers winger Sunia Turuva added his two cents with a savage post uploaded to his Instagram ‘close friends’ story that took things even further than Luai.

The post featured a shot of Galvin’s locker with the music underneath being former WWE wrestler Shane McMahon’s theme song, which is called ‘Here Comes The Money’.

Turuva’s Instagram account has since been turned to private.

In an extraordinary development, Webster revealed Marshall, along with club CEO Shane Richardson, were going to name Galvin in the team, before the senior players stepped in.

“As of last night, Shane Richardson and Benji Marshall were of the opinion that they were going to pick him. And it was the senior players, that fronted Benji this morning, and said, ‘we don’t want to play with him,’” Webster said.

Remarkably, Marshall asked Galvin to address the Tigers’ playing group.

Galvin did, but Tigers players weren’t impressed with what they heard from Galvin.

“Apparently they had to call an end to it because they weren’t copping what was coming out of his mouth,” Webster said.

In the hours after Galvin’s axing was confirmed, the young star spoke out for the first time since his decision to walk away was announced to the NRL world.

“I totally understand my decision will frustrate many Wests Tigers fans, but please know that it wasn’t an easy call to make,” Galvin said.

“The club were eager to get a deal done and so they called a meeting with my management last week. I could’ve mulled over this decision all season, but I didn’t think that was the right thing to do.”

Galvin and his management informed the club last Thursday he wouldn’t be signing any extension, instead he would start fielding offers from rivals come November 1.

He said his decision to inform the club now, instead of towards the end of the season was so they had adequate time to prepare for his departure and put future plans in place.

The youngster also shut down suggestions he had a deal in place with another club for the 2027 season.

Galvin seemed to confirm swirling rumours that the reason for him electing to depart the club was based on him not being able to grow into his full potential.

“I just feel that as I move into an important period of my development as a half, that I continue to build my game at a different club. Again, I know this might be hard for some people to understand, but I make this decision in the best interests of my career,” he said.

Galvin’s axing from the Tigers squad reportedly came after a player mutiny, with Phil Rothfield writing: “On Monday night the Wests Tigers leadership group, that included Jarome Luai and Api Koroisau, fronted coach Benji Marshall and said they didn’t want Galvin in the team.”

It remains to be seen if this will impact Wests Tigers’ insistence that Galvin will see out his contract, ending after the 2026 season.

Frustrated Wests Tigers players reportedly may want Galvin released from the club early and potential long-term half Latu Fainu (currently injured) brought into the side permanently, earlier reports said, to put the team and its future first; especially given Galvin’s apparent lack of faith in coach Benji Marshall.

A Nine report has exposed tension between not only Galvin and Marshall, but also superstar teammate Jarome Luai.

The Tigers have stated they will not release Galvin early with his deal expiring in November 26, but that could hurt Latu Fainu’s development and may no longer be tenable given the star playmaker’s sudden demotion.

Tigers CEO Shane Richardson would privately be open to releasing Galvin early, provided the Tigers benefit from the deal, which could involve a player swap or a financial incentive like a transfer fee.

Fainu is in the second season of a four-year deal with the Tigers and the 19-year-old has scored three tries in 11 NRL games to date.
