The Tasmania JackJumpers won’t have to wait long for a reunion with former import Milton Doyle while a decision has been made on the future of the Christmas Day after the new NBL fixtures were released.
Doyle’s new side Melbourne United is set to travel to Hobart for the JackJumpers’ season opener on Thursday, September 18 as Scott Roth’s new starting line-up looks for the perfect start.
It’s a double header opening weekend for the Jackies who then travel to take on the Perth Wildcats two days later.
The Christmas Day game against the New Zealand Breakers won’t go ahead this season with the fixture instead moved to Boxing Day, which is a Friday, at 7.30pm.
Launceston hoops fans will get their fix early in the season when Roth’s team plays back-to-back games against the Cairns Taipans and South East Melbourne Phoenix in early November.
It’s a tough start to the season for the JackJumpers who will play four of their first five games on the road.
This season, the NBL has launched its own in-season tournament known as the Ignite Cup.
The club will feature at Hoops Fest in Perth in mid-January where they will face Melbourne United.
