Portuguese model Magui Coreceiro was there to celebrate her beau at his world-title win, but her appearance hasn’t been welcomed by all.

Lando Norris’ girlfriend Magui Coreceiro has caused quite a stir since returning to the circuit, sealing her boyfriend’s world championship win with a kiss.

The 23-year-old model reunited with the new F1 world champion earlier this year after months apart.

The 26-year-old romped home to his maiden F1 title after finishing third in the final Formula 1 race of the year in Abu Dhabi, holding off four-time champion Max Verstappen by two points in the driver’s championship.

He has been joined by Magui for the second half of the campaign, and the Portuguese model has not shied away from the limelight since coming back into the picture.

Magui aimed a dig at Norris’ rival Max Verstappen, claiming he “just wins by luck”.

While she also drew the ire of Carlos Sainz, Norris’s former McLaren teammate, who suggested there was a “lack of respect” shown for the drivers by F1’s coverage.

“They (the production team) go overboard a little by showing the celebrities and girlfriends … they missed a lot of things,” he told Spain’s El Partidazo de COPE.

The Spaniard claimed the wives and girlfriends of certain drivers, such as Magui, were given too much spotlight at the detriment of race action.

“I understand that if there is an overtake, a very tense moment in the race, it is understandable that the production team might want to show a reaction shot if they have seen that it has worked in the past,” he said.

“But (they only should) if the competition is respected.”

“I don’t call the cameras. If they record me, they record me. Sometimes I don’t even realise if I’m being recorded,” Coreceiro told Jornal de Noticias.

But she is not afraid to seek the limelight on occasion, dazzling with her choice of outfits away from the track.

A few weeks ago she posted some sizzling snaps of a trip to Bali in Indonesia.

She has also been spotted kissing Norris in the paddock on occasion, including after his win at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Discussing Magui with British Vogue, Norris said: “We met a few years ago, but we were never really together until more recently.”

Quizzed about what he finds “special” about his girlfriend, Norris wasn’t shy in lavishing her with compliments.

The McLaren star added: “Everything. She’s someone I can very much be myself with.

“Very down to earth and she lives quite a crazy life as well. It’s nice when we can both just (rent) a boat for the day or go home together and chill.”

Norris clinched the world title this morning with a podium finish, which pushed him ahead in points over Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and fellow McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri.

The win has drawn some negative attention from disappointed fans.

“The concept of best and fairest obviously not a part of McLaren or F1. An extravagant circus – give me Aussie Supercars any day,” one news.com.au reader commented.

“Piastri needs to take his talent elsewhere and not reward McLaren by staying,” another said.

The Aussie led the world championship longer than anyone else this year, and only conceded the lead after the European swing.
