Bathurst 1000: Porn star Renee Gracie won’t be offered wildcard but announces strip show plans

Renee Gracie’s dream of returning to the sport she quit to become an adult actor has been shot down, with Supercars labelling her bold Bathurst bid ‘a publicity stunt to sell more videos’.

Set to strip for charity in her latest act, Renee Gracie will not be returning to Mount Panorama with Supercars officials adamant the adult actor will not be granted a Bathurst 1000 wildcard.

Revealing her dream to return to the sport she abandoned to become a porn star in an exclusive interview with News Corp last month, Gracie claimed she could land a top 10 finish at Bathurst if allowed back into the sport.

But it will not be happening.

While refusing to publicly comment on what they call the “Gracie Circus”, Supercars officials have no intention of granting the former Dunlop series star a wildcard entry to race in next year’s Bathurst 1000.

In fact, they do not even expect her to apply.

“It’s just a publicity stunt,” said an official.

“She is just using the sport to sell more videos. It is not even worth commenting on because it is not going to happen.”

Gracie claimed she could become the event’s greatest-ever drawcard and would put life back into a sport that had become boring.

The former Harvey Norman driver said she planned to buy her own team and earn a wildcard to return to Bathurst for a one-off event.

“I think it is completely possible that I would be considered for a wildcard,” Gracie said.

“I don’t think anyone in Australia would be able to generate the interest that I would attract.

“It would be huge. V8s is pretty boring at the moment – I haven’t been able to get through an entire race this year. I turn it off after a couple of laps because it is repetitive and not much is going on. The sport was much better four or five years ago in terms of action.”

Gracie, who was part of Bathurst’s first all-female team in 2015, said having a female back in the category would be a coup.

“There aren’t too many females that have raced – let alone one that has raced before and done porn. I think it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the sport.”

Meanwhile, Gracie is set to take her clothes off to raise money for men’s health.

“I’ve wanted to raise money for charity for some time,” Gracie said.

“So I asked my social media followers to suggest what sort of cause they wanted to help. Most if not all of my followers are male. Many are former soldiers who suffer from PTSD. They chose mental health. I suggested a number of mental health charities and the overwhelming winner chosen by my fans was the Black Dog Institute. It’s a great cause,” she said.

“The Black Dog Institute does so much good work and we should all try to support them whenever we can. So often, men’s mental health is overlooked because of the perceived stigma in talking about it and coming across as vulnerable, but this is changing and has to change.

“I can’t think of a better way to join my fans as well as in thanking them by raising funds, as well as putting a spotlight on men’s mental health during Mental Health month.”
